Reed Bed Improvements

The one big funded project of the past year was the work that was undertaken on the reed bed, in particular in front of the Mike Foulkes’ Hide. In November 2016 outside contractors were employed to clear and excavate the lagoon, the Bittern channel, Sanctuary Pond and the area immediately in front of Rotunda Hide.  They also created a new Kingfisher bank in front of Mike Foulkes’ Hide.  If the Society is to continually improve the reserve, then major projects such as this need to be funded in order to support the ongoing work carried out by the work parties.
