Martin Gibbons, an amateur wildlife artist and a member of Maple Lodge Conservation Society, will be running a one day drawing course for beginners. This will be held in the Clubhouse and around the reserve and will cost £20.00 per attendee, with all fees going towards the Society’s funds.

The course covers basic drawing techniques for capturing birds; shapes / body / head proportions; different aspects - bills / eyes / feathers / feet; capturing quickly; putting the bird in context; tone; colour; composition.  There is time for sketching in the field, review sessions and a break for lunch.  All drawing materials will be provided.
