On Sunday, 28th June the reserve will be open to the general public for an Open Day as part of National Insect Week. The day will be centred around the huge variety of invertebrates that can be found on the reserve, including bees, butterflies, dragonflies, damselflies, beetles and spiders.
Throughout the day guided tours will be organised by members of the Maple Lodge Conservation Society, not only to show new visitors around the reserve, but also to highlight the insect life that lives there.
Light refreshments will be available all day and there will also be plants, second-hand books and greeting cards on sale. Entry to the reserve and parking will be free of charge.
